Environmental Magazines Online

by Don Rittner

If you are interested in keeping up on environmental issues and
saving paper at the same time, using the Internet is a good place to
start. Several organizations have put their printed magazines on the
web, or made them available in text format. Some organizations
have skipped the printed versions and publish only an online
version.

There are not many environmental publications online but there is
enough of an assortment to give you a good overview on issues
ranging from architecture, nuclear, solid waste, outdoor recreation
and education, sustainable development, and even oceanography.

Use your Web browser (or email) to visit the following dozen sites:

Change
http://www.woodwind.com/imaja/change/

A general magazine that contains features on the environment. Their
latest issue had a story on the French atomic blasts and logging
issues in California. Has a few elinks to other sites.

Electronic Green Journal
http://www.usi.edu/business/ecology.htm

Published irregularly (three issues so far). According to their
masthead, EGJ is a "professional refereed publication devoted to
disseminating information concerning sources on international
environmental topics including: assessment, conservation,
development, disposal, education, hazards, pollution, resources,
technology, and treatment." They are academically sponsored but
their "focus is to publish articles, bibliographies, reviews, and
announcements for the educated generalist as well as the specialist."

Environment Business Newsletter
Environment Business Magazine
http://www.pavilion.co.uk/vinet/ifi/welcome.htm

These two publications deal with environment and business issues in
the United Kingdom. I cannot find who sponsors the eversions but
you can subscribe to the printed versions online.

This is the electronic version of a bimonthly print magazine. Has
essays and interviews, published speeches, and selected articles from

relative to those issues." The site is still under construction.
