COMPUTER CLASS SERIES OFF TO A FRESH START IN JULY.
On Thursday, July 6, 1995, at 6:00 PM, the South Mountain User's GRoup (SMUG)
beginner's get-together will be starting at the beginning of it's six session
course with an exploration into "What's Under The Hood" of the computer.
The series is presented twice a year starting in January and July.
The schedule will run as follows (on the first Thursday of):
July (1 of 6) Hardware
August (2 of 6) Hardware
September (3 of 6) DOS
October (4 of 6) DOS Shell
November (5 of 6) Windows - File Manager
December (6 of 6) Windows - General
The regular meeting at 7:00 will feature Computer-based Astronomy programs,
a question and answer session on computer related problems, a raffle,
shareware/public domain disk of the month, and a software auction.

The South Mountain Users Group is a non-profit organization established
to aid all computer owners in achieving maximum results from their home
or small business computers. It is not connectedor private business. SMUG can also aid in the location of specific or
hard-to-find software or hardware and serves as a reference source to
make the computer owner aware of the materials available. SMUG
maintains a Public Domain Library of popular Freeware and Shareware
programs that can be purchased by members at a nominal fee.
A family membership ($30 annually) entitles members to a subscription to
the monthly newsletter, access to the Public Domain Library, Workshops,
Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and group purchases when they become
available. Students in grades K-12 may join at a rate of $15 per year
and corporate memberships for up to 3 employees cost $75 per year.
SMUG meets on the 1st Thursday of each month at St. Matthews United
Methodist Church, 2540 W. Baseline Rd. between Price and Dobson in Mesa.
The Beginner's Meeting starts at 6:00 PM, with a User Forum starting at
6:30 PM and the General Meeting at 7:00 PM. Visitors are encouraged to
attend and to parTicipate in the evening program. There is no charge to
attend meetings.
