Trexar announces the availability of MacHeadlines ™, a highly configurable

scrolling ticker that comes pre-configured for 11 popular news, sports, and

stock sites. Now virtually any web page can be configured with

MacHeadlines and scrolled as part of the ticker across the top of the user’s

screen. No need to keep jumping back to a web site to get up-to-the-minute

information; MacHeadlines does it automatically for you.

MacHeadlines is actually a sophisticated parsing-engine/Internet browser

capable of retrieving data from most websites. Additionally, users can

fully customize the look and feel of the ticker. This includes options to

change the fonts, sizes, screen location, and more. The product works with

public web sites and with internal corporate sites where access is allowed.

Trexar has purchased the rights to the product formerly known as NewsTicker

and upgraded the product to give it industrial strength reliability.

Release 1.7 also adds new functionality. Users can now enter their own

stock portfolios and have their personal quotes scroll across the desktop.

Text encoding is now supported to allow for scrolling of non-English

websites.

Release 1.7 supports 68020 and later Macs (including PPC/G3); and requires

less than 2MB of memory at runtime, less than 2MB of disk space, and an

Internet connection with an ordinary 28.8 modem. MacHeadlines supports all

popular screen sizes and resolutions. Performance is excellent, and 68K,

FAT, and PPC versions are available. MacHeadlines uses very little network

bandwidth (and only when headlines are retrieved, not during normal

scrolling).
